Synopsis
JoePhish was developed as a departmental training project. The company was moving from ColdFusion to ASP.NET and needed a vehicle for testing – project “Phish” was born. The programmers were responsible for developing the functionality while the designers had to create the layout and get acquainted with the Controls, Skins and Themes that accompanied Visual Studio. JoePhish was abandoned when time constraints forced the department to focus on converting actual projects – incorporating a learn as you go mentality.

The idea for this site actually came as a challenge from a co-worker – we’ll call him Joe. When I posed the question “Any suggestions for a color scheme?” to the department, Joe being the radical he is, announced “Pink and Green” – which had always been his response to that question. Not liking to back down from a challenge and considering the specs I was working with, I executed what I think was a clean and simple, albeit slightly obnoxious, design. As a friendly act of retaliation, I elected to rename the project “JoePhish” as a reminder of who chose that color scheme.
